10 Things Making Me Happy

We all get a bit low sometimes and that’s okay, we need to just take some time to ourselves and let our self be a bit sad before picking up and moving forwards again. I struggle with depression, anxiety, Borderline Personality Disorder and body dysmorphia and  I need to keep reminding myself that it doesn’t make me less valuable and sometimes my brain just doesn’t work right and it needs time – so here are some of the things making me happy right now.


  1. Brooklyn 99 – my latest Netflix binge and I honestly can’t get enough of it. I’ve just finished season 5 and am rejoicing it’s renewal. NINE NINE.
  2. Going Away – I’m going to Poland next week to campaign for Climate Change with the Catholic charity CAFOD  and  can’t wait to spread my love and passion for the environment.
  3. Cooking and Baking – I love everything to do with food and not now I’ve finished uni for summer I have lots more time to experiment, yay! My most recent creation was Apple and Rhubarb blondies and they were goood (if I say so myself).
  4. My Boyfriend – ew, yuck. My boyfriend Ben helps keep me calm and sane-ish on my bad days and I make him endless cups of tea while he spends hours playing warhammer before we watch Netlflix all night not being able to agree on a film. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
  5. Newcastle – it will always be home. I’m not spending loads of time there this summer because I’m looking for a job but it will always make me happy.
  6. Yoga – I took part in a yoga class last year but since moving to uni I can’t afford ti[[it so I’ve started following YouTube videos and it makes me feel so amazing. I feel light and free after I do it.
  7. Netflix in General – but like, do I need to explain??????
  8. Writing – I keep a journal and I just find it so useful, whether I’m overthinking and need to get everything out of my head or I’m bored and don’t know what to do. Plus the notebook I journal in is super pretty so that helps too
  9. Dogs – I love animals and I’m a vegetarian but I’ve never been one for pets, I met my boyfriends dog and was subjected to lots of cute dog videos and now I want one.
  10. Getting Up Earlier – I used to go to sleep late and sleep in until late and all day I was feeling guilty and lethargic but now I get up at 8.30ish on a morning and my day is longer and I end up sleeping better, that’s a bit lame but it’s making me happy lol.
